Capturing a journey … | Oakville Newborn Photographer

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

I feel honoured when so many of my families have me come back year after year to photograph everyone as the family grows … this might mean coming back to capture the years passing and little ones growing or the addition of a new baby brother or sister … I love watching families change and grow.  Especially knowing that each time I see a family again I am helping them capture their family’s journey in photographs … timeless pieces of art that their family will get to cherish and love for years to come …

This family is no exception … I was so excited to hear from mom months ago to let me know that they were expecting baby #3!  I had first photographed them when the cutie with pigtails was just two weeks old (funny enough the same age baby sister was for her first time in front of my camera for this session!!) … I just couldn’t believe how much the kids had grown!!

So wonderful to catch up and visit with you all ;) … enjoy your sneak peeks …

Fall Sessions | Milton Family Photographer

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Just a quick post to update on fall bookings … things are booking quickly as everyone gets ready for those wonderful fall/holiday sessions.  October 31st is the only weekend date remaining for October and then I will be booking into November for weekends.  Some Please note that sessions need to occur prior to November 14th and ordering deadlines for guaranteed holiday delivery are November 20th.  Sessions can of course be booked after this time but delivery of orders prior to the holidays can not be guaranteed.  There is some greater availability for weekday sessions as well … so even if your little ones are in school think about booking a late afternoon session to capture them this beautiful fall season!!!

AND I have to mention holiday cards … I am telling you all I am so incredibly excited about this years stunning designs, I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing these are!  All press print card come in your choice of finish ranging from linen texture to a shimmering pearl finish.  Honestly you need to see these to appreciate how beautiful they are … I will be bringing samples to all fall sessions to allow you to view some designs and textures prior to seeing your design samples (all fall session will have some holiday card designs featured in your gallery along with your session images).

Be sure to book your fall session today to secure your preferred session date :) .

My heart …

Friday, September 18th, 2009

As many of you may have noticed my blog has been a tad quiet lately … that’s because I took a little time away from sessions to focus on the two loves of my life ~ my boys.  One of the things that photography always reminds me about is that we have to not only capture the special moments, the smiles, the memories …. but we also have to live them and cherish all the little moments.  So I took a mini hiatus to focus on my little man as he started his journey at junior kindergarten.

I always get slightly taken back by how fast time flies … like the song says you “blink” and suddenly your baby boy is smiling bravely at you as he waits to start his first day of kindergarten.  Its a crazy mix of emotions that leaves you feeling so incredibly proud and so completely sad that you have to let go of them just a little more with each new journey they begin.

All this just reminds me how much I cherish the photographs I have of my boys … like this week when I took a walk down memory lane to look at how much my little man has grown.  Photographs of my boys will  always be treasured by me for the rest of my life … it amazes me still to this day how one little image has the power to make me laugh, make me cry or make my heart swell with pride …

To all the fellow moms and dads that had little ones start “big school” (my son’s wording not mine LOL) remember to enjoy and capture the beautiful little creatures they have become at the start of such a wonderous journey.  Oh and keep those tissues handy :) ….

My little man …
